Server-side tracking to recover lost conversions

The short answer

Server-side tracking sends conversion data from your server to Google, Meta and other platforms, instead of relying only on the visitor’s browser. It recovers conversions lost to ad blockers and browser privacy limits and gives ad algorithms better data. Adshouz sets up server-side GTM, Meta Conversions API and Google Enhanced Conversions with consent built in.

What you get

What our Server-side Tracking & Attribution service includes

  • Server-side GTM

A tagging server on your sub-domain for first-party data collection.

  • Meta Conversions API

Server events with deduplication and strong event-match quality.

  • Google Enhanced Conversions

Hashed first-party data to improve conversion matching.

  • Offline conversions

Qualified leads and closed sales from your CRM uploaded back to Google and Meta.

  • Consent handling

Consent mode and data minimisation aligned with privacy requirements.

Do I need server-side tracking?

If you spend meaningfully on ads and see a big gap between platform-reported conversions and real sales, yes. Better data usually improves how Smart Bidding and Meta’s algorithm optimise. For very small budgets, a correct client-side setup with Enhanced Conversions may be enough to start.

  2. Step 2: Architect

Choose hosting and the data flows for each platform.

  3. Step 3: Implement

Set up the server container, APIs and deduplication.

  4. Step 4: Validate

Test events, event-match quality and reconciliation with real data.

FAQ

Questions about Server-side Tracking & Attribution

Is server-side tracking legal?

Yes, when it respects user consent and privacy laws. It changes where data is processed, not whether you need consent.

Does server-side tracking slow my site down?

It can make it faster, because fewer third-party scripts run in the browser.

What is event-match quality in Meta?

A score of how well Meta can match your server events to its users, based on the customer data you send. Higher scores usually mean better optimisation.

How much does hosting cost?

Hosting for a tagging server is usually a modest monthly cost depending on traffic; we estimate it before setup.

Will server-side tracking fix all missing conversions?

No setup recovers everything, but server-side tracking, Enhanced Conversions and offline imports typically close a large part of the gap between platform-reported and real conversions.

Does server-side tracking work with Shopify?

Yes. We combine Shopify’s customer events and webhooks with server-side GTM or direct API integrations for Meta and Google.
